About Me

I am Marc Gate. And that is not my real name.

But what difference does it make? If you say, “Hey Marc!” I’m going to swiftly respond, “Who’s Marc?… Oh! Yes, Hi there, friend, how can I be of assistance?”

See? It doesn’t make a difference, as long as I respond to it as if it was my real name–despite the short pause of confusion.

I took up this name and started this blog to practice writing, in English. It is the second language I’ve learned after my mother’s tongue and I wish to improve my skills in it, and hopefully become a published author and the richest man on EARTH!

It’s crazy, you know, how people struggle to reach success. They start businesses, follow lucrative careers, build huge factories, etc. But then one person just squeezes his mind and comes up with a brilliant story, and becomes so Rich, famous, and loved that people would scream and faint at his presence.

I know it’s not that easy. Writing a novel is not something that everyone can do. Some writers spend years working on their masterpiece. And the self-discipline that is required to sit and type for thousands of hours should not be underestimated.

It’s even more difficult for me, since English is not my first language. But I will practice and practice until I become the next Tolkien. That’s called being Ambitious, baby! AMBITOUS!

Will I become the next bestselling author? Well, that would be nice! But let’s see if I can keep this blog updated first. My goal is to write every day. And I will write about anything if I don’t have a story to tell.

So to ALL my future crazy-devoted fans, be patient. I will bring you a novel that will let you cry, laugh, wonder, and jump up and down from its excitement.

    • It was my pleasure. And you are more than welcome to enjoy my great, epic, best-selling, and awesome story.

Actually, if you have read through the story until now, I thank you for you patience. Because I know it SUCKS!

But I believe without persistence, there is zero hope of becoming a legendary author, which is who I will become after 2 months… I mean 200 years… someday 🙂

      • Magnificent Rome. 🙂 I was looking back at some of my older writing recently and laughing at it. I’m sure a few years from now, I’ll laugh at my current book, but hopefully they’ll be some improvement!

      • I taught my youngest brother how to drive a car. And I watched him progress little by little. With every improvement, he thought he was at his best, and laughed at how bad he used to drive before. I think we are the same.

But the fact that we laugh at our older selves is all the proof we need for our improvement.

        Thanks for the comment.

  1. Marc, thank you for visiting my blog and dropping a line, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I’ve been browsing your blog and finding it quite entertaining. You’ve got an awesome sense of humor and determination, don’t ever lose that. Best of luck 🙂
